The Why

The Judy Ann fund and the Long Island SWAT challenge was founded by Ara Basmajian in honor of his Mother Judy Basmajian and Ann Conforti. Two amazing women known for their incredible personalities, unconditional love, kindness and toughness.

The Judy Ann fund is at its infancy stage.
For the sake of full transparency, the Judy Ann Fund is not yet a 501(c)3 organization. We are looking to build out that infrastructure for 2026. For now all proceeds will be given directly to families. The Judy Ann funds mission will be to assist first responders and their families when they are battling cancer and need to call for back up. All funds are directed to assist in these families in getting the resources they need to concentrate the efforts on the treatment of their loved ones.

The initial unveiling of the Judy Ann fund occurred during the Long Island SWAT challenge where several local police agencies most elite units competed to raise money for this cause.
